Started Saturday with a 250 mile round-trip to our regional car club (GOBMC,
Greater Ozark British Motoring Club) BBQ lunch and monthly meeting . We are
hatching plans for our third annual all-British car and cycle meet in
historic Carthage, Missouri, 26-28 July.
We rounded up my MGA, a '55 TF, a CB Midget, an RB Midget, an XK-140 Coupe,
an E-type roadster, a pair of XJ-6s, a 12cyl jag sedan, a 3000 AH, a new
Mini (it is YELLOW!), and several Ford pickup trucks, all traveling long
distances under their own power with no breakdowns.
On the way home I saw several street rods, a '55 Chevy Bel-Air wagon, and a
65ish Porsche (he waved!) Alas not another piece of Brit iron on the road.
Where are you, ladies and gents?
Drove the Magnette to work two days and a run to Springfield (MO) tomorrow
in the MGA.
Cheers,
David F. Darby
