Have you plugged the manifold port whilst the pipe is disconnected from the
vacuum capsule? If not that will make for a weak mixture. With no vacuum
advance the timing will be way off what it should be during cranking, idle
and on the overrun, you might have to advance it quite a bit to compensate.
But best by far to replace the capsule and set the timing and carb back up
again.
