Barney made some very interesting points about brake fluid but might have missed
one item.
If a brake line or hose developed a small hole, the fluid will coming out will
be atomized very effectively and you get an easily ignitable, nearly explosive
mixture.
The same thing happens when a power steering line ruptures.
