starter wiring post on '79 B

I'm having problems getting the wiring disconnected from the starter.  Put a
ratchet on the nut and cranked for a while, and thought it odd that the nut
hadn't fallen off yet...

The nut turns, the stud does not, but the nut isn't backing off any further.
I suppose I could just use a nut splitter for now to get things undone, but
that never seems very sporting..  :-)  Any ideas?
