I heard that this would work. I'll try again. Right now, the front end I am
taking apart was damaged and I was just scavenging parts. The whole beam and
accessories are sitting on my garage floor. The spring pan only travels so
far down, not even close enough to remove the spring on the one side. Maybe
its a fluke.
I hope to disassemble the actual front end on the 72B and will replace all
the rubber parts with the new (polyethylene?) bushings. I had also thought
about replacing the coil springs. A look in the catalog indicates a problem
anyway - the front end now on the 72B came off my 71BGT. Apparently the
coil springs on the GT are almost an inch longer, probably to compensate
for the greater weight of the GT. What would that do to a MGB? I will be
putting on new leaf springs when I finish the front.
