Not sure if this was on a MGB or Midget engine, but a few years
ago I primped engine by removing the distributor. I then used a 8" piece
of steel rod (3/8") and made a flange at the end to fit the oil pump
drive. Inserted it through the distributor hole, engaged the oil pump
drive and hook up an electric drill to turn the oil pump.
I had pressure throughout the engine. Re-installed the distributor and
hey presto had oil pressure on start up
