Mike, you're obviously a nice guy, and you are unhappy you were
moved to respond in kind to the correspondence mentioned.

My advice as a narsty old fart is to swallow the remorse and allow
your many friends to talk you out of leaving. In this society of
ours, one is still justified in acting in self-defense. Tell 'im his
dogs smile at him because they think he's gonna taste like chicken.
