That isn't entirely correct. British Leyland did develop the O-series quite
extensively, and it was produced and found in a few British Leyland cars..
Morris Ital, Montego, Austin Allegro, and even a few Rover SD1s. The engine
is quite a strong unit, even appearing in turbocharged form producing about
190hp. Two displacement variants of the motor were produced, 1.7L and
2.0L... the 2.0L being the rare of the two.
