Ask the folks who have done V-8 conversions. When you have completed it, and
your
med school education, you will have a hot rod: a hybrid MGA with an American V-6
that will appeal to someone who likes hot rods, but not to the MG purist. On the
other hand, if you rebuild the original engine, or buy a rebuilt spare from
someone, like, say, ME (who has two rebuilt spare MGA 1500 engines to sell,
hint,
hint!!!!), you end up with a more valuable and original car with broader appeal.
An engine swap is a fairly large undertaking that can take months, or even years
of intensive effort to complete. No doubt the MGA with 200 hp would be a hoot to
drive if you are patient enough to wait for the job to be completed.
