Hi Mark,
First off all my 75 Bs had one Zenith carb. Not 2 SUs. Since I just
tuned into your problem , which does your car have. Regardless , through
my experiences I would suggest you pick up the Haynes MGB repair manual and
John Twists MG technical booklet to use as guides to help you down this
crazy road of MGeneering. As the listers are shooting their ideas back to
you, you need some point of reference to refer to besides your car, which
should be out in the garage( unless you really got the British car bug bad).
These manuals lay out most of the basic procedures and how to's on
making your adjustments and the list will help considerably with shortcuts
and what nots to do.
Not lecturing here just passing on what has helped me through and kept me on
this hobby instead of working on my house like I should be. ( according to
my wife anyway)
The Zenith carb has a few touchy adjustments, and tends to run a
little rich anyway.
J. Twist lays out some short cuts very nicely. That is if you have the
Zenith carb, if not don't read the previous sentence. Good Luck,
Mark
