Even though you're changing the antifreeze, it wouldn't hurt to also add an anti-rust compound to create an even stronger solution to resist rust. When the engine sits idle, there can be localized corrotion and the added anti-rust will help. In regards to mouse killer, some of them also make the mouse thirsty, so it leaves the dry vehicle in search of water and dies elsewhere.
