The shift knob (w/ O.D. switch) has come loose on my 80 B.
There is what appears to be a jam nut with a flare below it. Am I right to
assume
that one would back the jam nut until it comes in contacts with the bottom
of the shift knob and then add a 1/4 turn or so to hold it in place ?
I do not want to over tighten the nut as to crack the knob, nor do
I want to leave it loose as the vibration is driving me crazy and
I do not want to risk shorting-out the O.D. switch.
Any help will be appreciated.
