Besides the bearing, there are several other possibilites. If the bearing is loose, the backing plate may be rubbing. One of the brake pads may be too loose in the caliper. Finally, there are metal fibers in the brake pads (even the organic ones) that are supposed to be evenly dispersed. Often they are not, and there is a clump that can cause the grinding sound.
