If you are planning to use enough boost to need the drop in compression, by
all means use forged pistons!
I use 8.5:1 with 13.5 psi boost on a turbo installation, mind you I have a
knock sensor with feedback control to the timing.
I would think that around 8.5 would be fine for any reasonable boost in an MG
engine, as they usually use 7-10 psi.
The extra expense of forged pistons pays off in piece of mind!
