Just back from a week long business trip. Wow, enough with the virus stuff
already! My inbox is screamin'.
I finally bit the bullet and bought another 77 as a parts car. It's been
off the road for 14 years which can be good or bad. Luckily, the woman who
owned it had a hard top for it so the interior is surprisingly good
considering the condition of the body. As far as the body goes, it's pretty
rough and I paid more than I wanted to, but it was easy to get home and it's
showing only 75K on the speedo, so maybe I'll luck out and end up with a
decent engine and tranny. A couple of questions, guys...
1. I'm very tempted to try to get this car running to see what condition
the engine and tranny are in. It would be great to discover that engine and
tranny are alive and well and ready to be dropped into my yellow 77.
However, my gut tells me that I would be getting into an awful lot of work
in the wrong direction. Any thoughts on the matter?
2. The parts that I was interested in, namely engine, tranny, bumpers and
Rostyle wheels all look good (as far as an engine and tranny can look
without getting them going). What 4-hole, 14 inch wheels will fit a B so
that when the parts car goes, I can keep the Rostyles?
3. Finally, besides the parts I mentioned above, what should I strip off as
a matter of prudence to keep on hand "just in case"?
