Scott, adding heavy oil to the crankcase will sometimes slow the oil down
through the bearing. The trade-off is the quietening and improved
'apparent' pressure versus the reduced ability to cool the bearings. For
engines with worn bearings and weak rings/valve seals, I use a product
called 'Restore'. It is a Band-Aid, not a repair.
