MGA heating problems

The following data is from Alec Hounslow's copy of the twin cam
"Engineering Technical Data."

RADIATOR: DRG. No. ARH.98
TYPE: 4 Row 'B' type, gilled tube, Baked   12 GILLS PER INCH

DIMENTIONS MATRIX:  ... Frontal Area  1.35 SQ.FT.

AIR INLET: 129.75 sq ins
AREA IN LINE WITH MATRIX:  129.75 sq. ins.

There's 144, (12*12), sq. in. per square foot.  So the frontal
area of the radiator in sq. in. is 1.35*144= 194.4 sq. in.

That means that the radiator is bigger than the air inlet by
64.65 sq. in.  Also the air inlet must serve the heater and carb
hoses.  I wonder why we have high engine temperature problems?
