gee, I guess that would be this post.
My parents were taking a class at Wallowa Lake, Oregon. I live in
Pullman, Washington. Since Wallowa Lake is only 130 miles from
Pullman, and the weather wasn't too rotten (thunder showers), I went
to visit them Wednesday night after work.
I have been told this road isn't very fast. 3 hours for the 120 miles
to Enterprise.
So, at 5 PM I left Pullman. Arrived in Lewiston at 5:30 (ish),
climbed back up the other side of the LC valley (The Snake River
carves deep) shortly after. WA 129 climbs from Asotin to the flat
lands above by carving a ledge along the side of the hill. Fun stuff.
Once above the river, the road turns south and is a typical Easter WA
road for a ways (a ways being every mile > 11 miles from Oregon).
It is the last 11 miles in WA, and the first 6 miles in OR that are
special.

I wish I had taken a camera. The twisties sign said 25. I hit the
first corner at 50. I slowed down. Hit the second one at 40. That
felt good. My freshly installed sway bar made things very very nice.
For the next 20 (twenty!) or so miles, I turned left,right,left,right
...
At one point, I turned a switchback to see the road above me, above me
some more, and below me some ways. The car never left 3rd, and sat at
4K rpm for most of it.
Ooooh yeah! (it felt so good, I just _had_ to share)
