Some years ago (>12), I was working at an integrated circuit company that was asked to make a chip (IC) for a tyre pressure gauge. The gauge was supposed to display in .5lb increments (or less, I cannot recall). Anyway, what was really funny was that they wanted the last digit to be randomly generated, since the rest of the gauge was not that accurate!
