Hi Kai;
I have some experience with this stuff, but in the two-wheeled variety of
high perf. vehicles.
A run through the paddock of an AMA Superbike event will have you tripping
over the empties. These guys usually buy it in 5 gallon cans, because it is
so volatile that it "goes off" really quickly. Did you check the price?
$10/Canadian/gallon in a 45 gal. drum lot the last time we got some. Lets
see, that would be about $110 a fillup in my "B".
These bikes have motors that run 14.5 + to 1 compression and turn upwards of
15K RPM. Most make 165 or 170 BHP/litre.
These fuels (there are many like Cam2) would be great for a supercharged
motor, but you would have to have a fat wallet and a ready supply when your
tank went empty!
You could likely run 15 or 20# boost safely, but most likely it would be
impractical to run these fuels on the street.
They were selling this stuff at a service station? to the public?
Not likely around here, at least not after the environmental police got
there!
Dave
