Hi Denise,
Thanks for the hints sofar.
My '71 BGT does not have the overdrive installed, so why not using the
overdrive switch which is on the same stalk?
Cheers,
Hans

Hi Hans,
I remember you too! I hope to meet you next time you're in this
area.
I haven't installed intermittent wipers in any of my cars yet, mostly
because I can't find a three-position switch that looks just like the
one-position switch that originally operated my one-speed wipers. However,
I could probably do something sneaky with the two-position switch I've got
in
there now operating my two-speed wipers, like maybe make it go into
intermittent
mode if I switch from speed two to speed one within one second like those
motion
sensor lights that come on steady if you turn them off and on within a
minute.
But that doesn't answer your question. I've heard that JCWhitney
(www.jcwhitney.com ) has an intermittent wiper
kit that installs in any car. People have told me that it works
great. Making your wipers intermittent might wear out the park switch
on your wiper motor faster, just like turning a light switch on and off
every
few minutes would wear out the switch eventually, but it would take a
while. The park switch for a two-speed B wiper motor is separate from the
motor and cost $20 when I had to replace the one I burnt up trying to
figure out how to convert my B's.
For people who have no idea what I'm talking about, I converted my
one-speed-wiper '67 B to two-speed wipers. The one original speed is the
same as the slow speed on the later B's so now I have wipers that can
actually
keep up with a rainstorm.

Wow Denise,
Yes I remember you. Welcome back!!!
Tough luck - I just visited the Boston area last week - tried to
setup
another meeting there, but my time was limited and there was noone who
was
able to come this time.
First very nice meeting was in January 2000 / look at Bud Krueger's
website
for the pictures.
I'll be there some other time as EMC resides in Hopkinton MA.
BTW talking about wipers, is there a hint how to convert my two speed
wipers
to an extra function with interval? Is this wise whilst the extra usage
so
often of the wiper park switch?
Cheers,
Hans
'71 BGT - YES IT'S RUNNING SINCE A YEAR wanna see
