Yes Denver, I installed such a unit on my XK-150 which I had just restored.
Instead of getting valve noise and rattling timing chains on startup(common
with Jags), I flipped a switch, waited about fifteen seconds until the oil
pressure started to rise and then started the then quiet engine. I don't
know if a pre-luber would be of much value in the MG, but with the long oil
pipes to the cams in Jags it was a distinct advantage. Also, modern engines
develope oil pressure so quickly, especially with the light viscosity oils,
that it would offer little advantage. However, it is a know fact that most
engine wear occurs during startup and cold operation. Hope this helps to
