Now, I have heard that WD-40 is combustible, so it would not be good to 
squirt in the dizzy, but in the past I used to do this with no problems.  If 
you want to use it as a water displacer, squirt it (at your own risk) in the 
dizzy cap and wipe out the excess.  As far as a penetrant or lubricant, 
forget it.  It doesn't penetrate and it is a very light oil that washes off 
with rain.  Works OK for squeeky door hinges INSIDE the house.  I do find it 
useful for cleaning off bug spots.
