G'day Chris,

I don't want to talk engine capacities, because I think they are largely
irrelevant in this question. You are building a daily driver, not a racer,
so the long term life of the motor is a bigger issue than lap times. Hence,
don't bore it out to the max, leave yourself a couple of rebores in the
block - it'd be a bastard to bore the thing out the limit, then score a
bore in twelve months time and have to buy a new block, or whatever the
(undoubtably expensive) fix is.

My beast is 030 oversize, the cam was reground to what the factory called
Road Rally specs, HS4s, port and polish, factory extractors - nothing fancy
and I could have done more, but she's happy, strong, and should still be in
100,000 miles time.

Yes, you can throw a lot of money and a lot of trick things at these cars,
but considering what you starting with and the best you can get, you need
to worry about the dividing line between: "my engine is going to feel good"
and "I am going to feel good".

Cheers
Richard
