Thanks Charley,
Yeah, that is one thing about a list like this. You share some of the
pain so you might as well share some of the glory as well. You've been
through my blown head gasket while a thousand miles from home; my
electricals blowing out; tyre hassles; wire wheel hassles; cracked head
and all.
I don't think I will ever get it totally RIGHT (whatever that may be)
but via my entry into track work and this list I have a target package
to aim for (well, multiple targets, but at least the field has norrowed
somewhat). So this year I can aim for a package that will do what I
want to achieve, which is primarily fast sprints with acceptable road
comfort. Unless I damage something serious, the remainder of this year
- after I get my new engine in this week - will be frills and additions
rather than 'necessaries' (like those fat, expensive tyres that would be
great but which would set me back a thousand dollars or so).

Yep, and this is our racing season. After being out on the track in
110F/40+C temperatures at the end of last season, I know why we race in
Winter - the heat is a killer for both man and beast. And I did not get
to drive on a wet track all season (remember, this is Australia :-)
I am getting a tad revved up for the track, methinks :-)
