I may be partially wrong on this, but I thought that SU
used on their carburators and fuel pumps British
Association (BA) fasteners which are different than
Whitworth and BSF. They were quite often used on
anything with fasteners under 1/4 BSF. This system can
be compared to our 8-36, 6-40, etc, system, but it is
not identical to it.
So with us T type owners we have on some of the TD's
and later:
1) British Standard Fine (BSF) (body components)
2) French Metric with Whitworth wrench sizes sometimes
called Nuffield's Mad Metric (Mainly engine and
transmission)
3) British Association (BA) used on carbs, fuel pumps,
other small items
3) Unified, very close to SAE Fine, and used on the
rear axel
I don't know of any place true Whitworth (a course
thread) is used.
