Hi Bud,

Kelvin called that difference in length "specification drift" when he
and I discussed the diff in length between my old emergency brake cable
and the new one I got from Moss. ;^) Nothing much Moss can do about
that sort of thing but look for a new supplier.

When I rebuilt my 18GH engine last winter I wire-brushed all the studs
and discarded the ones that were badly pitted, looked slightly elongated
or had boogered threads. Then I went out to Elizabeth and Fisher
Jones's place with a 12 pack of Shiner Bock. We went thru his stud bin
(gurgle - gurgle), 'til we found a few good ones (burp). Those are the
studs that are in there now. One of those little details.... Too bad
you did in a head gasket in finding out

So ya got the thing back in there and the head on? How long 'til the
big day when it goes Varoom?

  Cheers,

  CR
