Hopefully, I'll have some pictures of my 65B project posted soon. Got the
oil/water gauge sent off. The tach also was not working so I removed it and
found out why. Its the mechanical gauge. This 65B has a 72 18V engine in it.
I would think I could get a 65-67 tach (with ignition light). The car is
still positive ground at this point although I may convert it - its the
son's car and negative ground would make it easier to install a sound
system of some kind. I once fried an 8 track player and associated wiring
in my first 65B when the tape deck made contact with the dash board during
my college days.
Anyone have a 65-67 working tach they might want to part with? How would I
wire it up to work off the coil?
On a related note, the car is still using a generator. Otherwise, the rest
of the engine components are 72 vintage. Is a switch from generator to the
72 alternator something that can be done, considering that I am still on
the old wiring harness?
