Actually, there is another rule in Boston. Don't use turn signals.

There are several places in town where I have to deliberatly fail to
use the turn signals.
In one instance there is only one lane at a light which many try to
make two lanes out of if I indicate a right or left turn. The vehicle
is usually a SUV/van/truck which I can't see over to make my right
turn after stop on red.
Another is a stop sign in a different location, but the events are the
same.
And of course, on coming traffic never tells you they wish to turn at
a light so you can also make your turn.
If you want to scare the hell out of them turn into your correct lane
and watch them jump when they find out that can't have both of lanes.
