When I got my 73B, it had the dual 6V batteries and the shunt cable that
goes between them had a cracked terminal.
I replaced them with a Napa Size 26 battery (450 Cold Cranking Amps, I
believe) and a new battery cable I used as a ground cable by cleaning the
battery bucket cage to ensure a clean connection and bolting the new ground
cable there. Coated the whole thing with anti corrosive battery spray. Works
like a charm.
I would, however, try to find a battery with a strap handle. I'm willing to
bet I wont get this thing out of there without someone under the car pushing
upward.
