I have used a 1 5/16" socket, a universal and a long extension with a 1/2 ratchet that allows me to observe everything moving and I can stop at the max opening of the valve. Expensive if I had to buy just for this, but I had all the tools already. I also place a 1/16 " rod that is magnetized on the rocker as the valve opens. This amplifies the movement and assists the visual aspect of the job. I also perfer to do them cold. Ray Easterby 72 BGT orig owner 88 Xj 40 60 MGA Coupe 1600 MK1 |
