Dave,

You are right. I'm affraid it was me who put the Weber on. I was in high
school and my "Weber-loving" Uncle (a VW mechanic) influenced me highly.
Honestly, I've never really liked it - I alway thought the SUs were faster,
but didn't want to admit it cause of the money I spent. Well, I'm
definately taking the Weber off and rebuilding my SUs, but the in mean time
I must use the Weber.

On to the emissions... at the same time I was putting the Weber on my Dad
talked me into taking the emissions off. We took of the air pump, plugged
the holes in the enigine block, removed the canister and all the hoses etc
as well as the SUs (remember Weber), vented the crankcase in to the filter
of the weber, and put a little screw in the hose come from 'somewhere' going
to the canister.

I'm guessing from your reaction that that little hose goes to the vapor
separator in the truck! The vapor separator is still there... come to think
of it I pretty sure I thought it was a fuel pump (remember I was a stupid
teenager).

Can I just disconnect the vapor separator and plug the tank?

Any concerns I should be aware of?

Thanks for the idea,
Jesse
