I think a felt bush was standard for my 66 B, but I used the later B
nylon bush. Maybe you could do the same.
Robert Arndt or Tricia Blossom had this to say:
>Help!
>MGA '60=How do you replace the upper steering felt bushing and shaft in
>the outer tube?
>I have soaked the felt in oil and graphite and even mashed the felt in
>the vice hoping to compact it to allow the steering shaft to slide thru
>and into the tube. No go and my patience is thin, much thinner than the
>damn felt bushing!. And to those of you with repair/restoration=if your
>steering column is snug leave well enough alone and do not pull the
>inner shaft out of the outter tube!
>Thanks for any/all advice. Bob
