Some time ago, another lister suggested this:
To reinstall the seats, insert the two front bolts upward through the
floor. Hook the seat tracks onto them, then run the rear bolts down as
normal. Then, remove the front bolts and reinsert as normal.
This makes it fairly easy to locate the tracks before trying to secure
them. It has worked well for me in my '72 GT.
