Hey All:
This has happened twice to a good friend of mine over the last few
years, have any of you seen the same? The Car had a Steel Fan Blade Just
Crack and break off on a MGB 4 Cylinder engine. Is this a common problem? The
First one was an original Blade on a 1972 MGB GT, the other was a
reproduction. (this blade only had a little less than 4000 miles on it when
it decided to split) It leaves you very alone in the middle of Nebraska too.
A small place called North Platt to be exact. Not many spare parts there for
our LBC's.
It does make a heck of a noise as it departs the engine. And as
usually, when you slow down, the fan is so far out of balance, you think the
engine will jump out of the engine bay.
