Charles: If you prep the area right (sand/grind 80 grit), use good bondo, (I recommend "Fiberstrand" or "Metal" as brandnames), good hardner, prime and paint the entire hood, and seal the repair from underneath, you should not have any problems due to flexing. If the panel were flexing that much, you'd be having other problems! Probably more of a concern is heat....but again, I really don't believe you should have any problems.
