Hi Phil,

  If your car isn't in good tune then your don't have any way to tell if
the OD helps or not.  Also, you didn't say what kind of driving the 30
miles is, or how you drive it.  

  If the OD doesn't help your gas mileage then (I'll go out on a limb
here) there's something that prevents it from helping, be it kind of
driving environment, driving style, or the condition of the car.
