My late TD would should have the same electrical setup as the TF.
I followed the shop manual and set the voltage regulator at the recommended
15.6-16.2 volts for 86 degrees F. We used a digital meter and would have chosen
to set it as close as we could to 15.9 volts.
A few days later on the trip to Kansas, while checking the oil, we noticed the
excessive moisture coming out of the battery. We would have verified the charge
was still correct by using a VOM meter. We reduced the voltage, by turning the
screw marked B in the manual counter clockwise, probably about 1/2 volt. We had
to reduce the voltage again later, but what it is currently set at I do not know
for certain. I do know that we verified the unit was still charging by checking
the ammeter with and without the lights. I would guess the voltage is now set in
the neighborhood of 14 volts.
