Is it Blue or Purple?

Need a little help from my friends. A friend of mine has a 74.5 MGB
which he needs to repaint.  He is having trouble identifying the
original color.  The title says "blue"  The DPO said it was "blue"which
he painted over and is now blackboard flat black.  The color looks like
purple on the inside door posts.   Can anyone out there give me/him a
spec on the original color?  Thanks everyone.
