I was watching a car restoration show recently ("Dream Car Garage" on
Speedvision) and they mentioned something called "soda blasting." Using
Baking Soda as the media, this method is supposed to be less aggressive
and less likely to create warped panels than sandblasting.
I recently bought a Midget that is going to be restored to be a vintage
racer. I'd rather not go to the expense of bead blasting the whole car
or the trouble of chemical stripping it, but I do want to strip the whole
thing.
Anyone had any experience with soda blasting? Is it expensive? Does it
do the job? Anyone know a company in Houston that does it (long shot, I
know)?
