Below are the minutes of the MG Council of NA meeting held at Carlise,
PA last month.
"Present on the wind-swept bleachers at the Spring Carlisle meet were a
dedicated group. Barb and Dave Wild, Gil and Betty Langswager, Roger
Garnett, Richard Liddick, Denny Bravery, Charlie Baldwin, Rick Brown,
Richard Miller Tom Boscarino, Peter Cosmides and your scribe and
convenor standing in for Ron Embling, Dave Houser.
1--First on the agenda was the report on the MG 2001 Odessey by a
representative from Tony Burgess, the Executive Director of the meet. It
will be held at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, MN. The
working schedule looks like this:
Monday, July 2,-registration, self guided tours, exhibits
Tueday, July 3-registration, self-guided tours, exhibits, tech sessions
Wednesday, July 4-registration, car shows, exhibits, tech sessions
Thursday, July 5-self-guided tours, exhibits, tech sessions
Friday July 6-banquet, race cars, self-guided tours, exhibits.
Rick has been kind enough to send out the hotel list for the various
participating MG car clubs, Here it is again:
Hope to see everyone there! This will be the meeting of the Millenium.
2--Next up on the agenda was a site for the MG Council summer/fall
meeting. As stated before, with the demise of John Twist's Summer Party,
we need a new location. Possible sites mentioned and we need to decide
which of these will prevail:
–The Roadster Party 2000 on Aug. 11-13 at Armagh, Pa. (near Pittsburgh)
–Abingdon Summer Party at Abingdon IL on Aug. 17-20. Chicagoland MG is
putting this on as a replacement for John's party.
–Taste of Britain-Aug. 26-27
–MGC's at New Hope July 21
–MG's on the Rocks Sept. 30
–T-Register GOF. third week in Sept.
All council representatives should make their vote known so Rick can
post the site for this important meeting.
3--Next on the agenda we can forget. It was supposed to be a new site
for our Spring 2001 Import show. However, due to an overwhelming support
from everyone, vendors, visitors and various MG clubs, our voices,
petitions, letters had the desired effect and Carlisle Productions
capitulated and gave us our show back in May. So we will meet again in
May prior to the 2001 MG Odessey for one more update before the event
for last minute news.
4--Regarding the matter of continuing the joint advertising effort of
the major registers it was unanimously carried to continue. It was noted
that it's free in all newletters now and we can buy space if needed.
5-- New Business. Richard Miller of the MG Drivers Club presented an MG
English Heritage tour to the old sod on Nov.2, returning Nov. 11, 2000.
For more information on the tour contact Richard at marfmil@hotmail.com

That was pretty much it. The rain continued and we went back to
ferreting out those rare finds through the rain slicked tents and the
Online Group meeting.
Thank you all for your tremendous efforts to keep our show in May!
Until the next time,
Dave Houser"
