A while back I wrote and told you about the Victoria MG Club holding
it's annual Giant Slalom at Western Speedway in Victoria BC. To
rehash here is the deal:
1. There is a BBQ Sat night after the Slalom, there is no charge, just
bring your own burnables and perhaps some thing to share.
2. We run six grids of 10 cars, starting at 10:00 AM Sat June 17, then
every hour till 3:00 PM. We always have an interesting variety of
British cars.
3. Your car must be street legal, in other words be licensed and
insured, you need seat belts, we will supply a helmet. British cars
only.

The entry fee is $10 US or $15 CDN
5. On Sunday there is an all British Car show in Beacon Hill park.
So the entire cost to attend is $10 US plus ferry etc.
Now for my problem, I drive an MGB the club is an MG club we always
sell out the event on a local basis with all kinds of Brit cars from
Morris Minor, tons of MGs all the way to a Rolls Royce saloon, but I
keep getting razzed because the only cars from off island are Triumphs
from the Seattle area. We have Triumph guys in our club who say MG
owners are not up to travel, little wooses and wearies etc. The only
MG we get from the lower mainland is an MGA and it has a Volvo engine.
We make it to Portland AB, Laguna Seca,Vancouver, Seattle and the
Rally in The Valley. That's our choice, but why not try us try us you
will like us.
I guess at this point I should duck, so okay I'm ducked.
