Replacing a complete wiring loom is a VERY time consuming job.
Leaving the loom in place but replacing all bullet connector receptacles and
thouroughly checking - replacing the bullet connectors I think is also worth
while considering.
If there are broken - cracked wires, then replacement of the loom is the
better option.

Completely replacing a wiring harness for $300? Plus you'd also be
pulling apart the interior and the dash or instruments and lite
assy's. The point is to get to every live and ground connection -
male and female. And then I would also take apart and inspect all
electrical devices, switches, motors etc. You want trouble free
for a few years, then you address everything LUCAS, just like in a
full blown restoration.
OTW it's the multimeter and wiring diagram, and diagnose and
repair as u drive.
