Prince of darkness winking

The prince of darkness may be winking at me. Leaving racquetball tonight and 
the alternator light glowed at me as I reveved past 3500. It went of as I 
settled back to cruising rpm. By the time I got home it  would glow a little 
at idle with electric fan radio and lights on. I tightened belt a little and 
will see what happens on way to work. Altrnator less than year old. Any ideas 
beyond that?
