I drove my 70BGT home from the shop with the almost new engine (except for
the bored block) and new front suspension. I had asked the shop to fix the
rear suspension but it turns out the rear spring mounts (where the spring
connects to the car) are shot. So, I need to get the mounting point on the
car spot welded. Does anyone have any idea how this works? I see that the
Moss catalog has a part listed as "spring hanger", "side plate" and
"spring mount assembly", which or what do i need? Do I need to get the
parts or can the guy who spot welds just do a makeshift mounting area?
How much should it cost?
To be as precise as possible the part that is rusted is the metal U-shaped
section that the leaf spring bolts onto/into.
Just wondering,
Geoff
