It's 'goodbye MG' full stop. BMW will either sell the Rover and MG marques
to Phoenix or if the Phoenix bid fails (which is looking likely) will close
down MGF production along with Rover. They may well retain the MG and Rover
marques (as they intend to with Wolseley, Riley, Austin Healey) but have
said that, apart from new Mini, any new vehicle they produce will be as a
BMW.
Mind you, if recent pronouncements are anything to go by (maybe the
two-faced eagle with forked tongues does mean something) anything could yet
still happen.
