In my experience, if you connect the LT lead to the wrong side of the coil,
the isulation around the LT lead will burn off when the ignition circuit is
on. If the distributor cap is on, you may not notice, but I always double
check with the cap off.
Fortunately, the LT lead is cheap to replace.
