My V8 came with one five years ago and has given me some problems -
intermittent weak pumping. I wouln't choose to fit one and I now carry a
pointy spare as I don't trust this one. IMHO if the points fail on a
standard pump you have a chance of getting yourself home with a couple of
taps on the pump body, or at worst giving the points a clean at the
roadside. If the Hall-effect packs up you are stuffed - unless you
installed the conversion, carry the points with you and re-install them.
