>From the BBC this morning:
Sources close to BMW said the German car maker would retain the Landrover
range of cars and build the new Mini, while the Rover Cars business would be
sold to UK venture capital firm Alchemy Partners.
The investment group is said to have funds of about £1bn, and three of its
top executives have a strong background in the motor industry. One of them
is Kevin Morley, a former Rover marketing director.
Mr Morley resigned from Rover in 1992 to start his own advertising agency.
Reports suggest that they want to rebuild Rover on the strength of the MG
brand.
