77 MGB SPRING HEIGHT

I thought there was a thread a few months back on this
subject.  Can someone help?

I need suggestions on WHY my 1977 MGB [rubber bumper]
is setting too high after installing new springs.  The
dealer has given me 2 different sets and both leave
the car too high in the rear [by about 3 inches].  The
rebound straps are almost straight after installing
the new springs.  

Can anyone help?  Ride height is about 17.5 inches as
defined by the Paul Hunt website survey.
